Middle: 22 1⁄2” to 23 3⁄4”
Tail: 14 1⁄2” to 14 1⁄4”

Jacobs newest member, Tom Wegener has joined the Jacobs shaping team to help design a series of Jacobs Tom Wegener models. Famed for his amazing logging skills and ingenuity and design of traditional single-fin longboards, Tom has joined forces with brother Jon Wegener and Matt Calvani to capture the essence and history of Jacobs Surfboards in traditional longboard design.

The Model A is a traditional board that has no sweet spot or pivot point so it can be turned from any part of the board. This board features a soft, round bottom and contoured rails which stick to the wave. This board will start to angle across the wave all by itself. The board also has a long flat rocker in the mid-length of the board for ease of paddling and amazing glide. In addition the nose and tail have a slight rocker for easy turning. The trick was to put the flat rocker together with ease of turning. This is achieved by a blend of eggy down rails in the midsection of the board to up-style rails at the tip of the tail. This board will allow you to catch waves effortlessly and surf with tradition and style.

This board comes standard with a Paulownia wood fin made by Tom Wegener himself and shipped from Australia. Wood nose and tail blocks are optional and an additional charge.

Mike Purpus Model
Standard Sizes: 9’0” to 10’0”
Nose: 17 3/4”
Middle: 22 1⁄2” to 23 1⁄2”
Tail: 16”
Thickness: 2 7/8” to 3 1/4”

The newest addition to the curent Jacobs line, this late 60's classic was discovered by a surfboard collector and is often considered a next generation to the original Bing Noserider. The board was ridden and praised by several professional longboarders as one of the best noseriders ever to be shaped. In '67, Hap finally granted young ripper Mike Purpus a model of his own after he won the Oceanside contest. The board was originally designed at a time when noseriding became less of a focus and turning became more important, making it a more maneuverable surfboard that still allows plenty of tip-time. With a defined concave similar to noseriders of the time combined with a more refined rail and tail rocker, the Mike Purpus model has an outline that is more conducive to turning and noseriding, rather than just one.

The Mike Purpus model is traditionally glassed with color opaque resin or a resin tint. Upon special request the famous Jacobs team dot can be added.

Nose: 18 1/2”
Middle: 22 3/4” – 24”
Tail: 15 1⁄2”

A new revival of the original 60's model, which was designed by Dale Velzy and Hap Jacobs, then named after Hap's shop located at 422 Pacific Coast Highway, the 422 Traditional Noserider is made with authentic double redwood stringer setup and shaped with traditional soft 50/50 rails, a pronounced teardrop concave for long noserides and the 422 signature "hips" and single pivot fin box for control in turning. The 422 was one of the first noseriders ever to be designed and was Jacob's response to the popularity of the Bing Nuuhiwa Noserider. Jacobs New Shape
Standard Sizes: 9’0” to 10’0”
Nose: 18 3⁄4”
Middle: 22 1⁄4” to 23 1⁄2”
Tail: 15 ”
Thickness: 3” to 3 1⁄4”

Borrowing its name from the 1960s Jacobs model, the "New Shape" due to similarities in its conception, the modern-day Jacobs New Shape model was designed when several team riders demanded a versatile board, ideal for quick, challenging conditions and contest surfing. Hap encountered this same request during the 60s and got together with one of his shapers at the time, Rick Irons, and came up with the original New Shape Model. Today's New Shape utilizes a shorter noserider blank, i.e. dimensions and rocker, to give you glide and stability for noseriding but adds a round pintail, a 2+1 Jacobs signature fiberglass fin setup and a hard edge through the tail for maneuverability and quick response. This board is ideal for medium to big beach break or reef break. The New Shape is praised as the most versatile board in the Jacobs line.

This board can be glassed with a resin tint or airbrushed for a lighter more maneuverable board.

Nose: 16 3⁄4“
Middle: 20 1⁄2” to 22 1⁄4”
Tail: 15 1⁄2“
